Aftercare

Lash Extensions

  • Be extremely careful for the first 24 hours. While it's safe to wet your lashes straight after your appointment, you should avoid excessive sweating or swimming and hot steam such as steam room, hot bath, oven etc

  • You must avoid any type of oil-based product around the eyes at all cost. Oil weakens the bond and causes the lash extension to slip off.

  • Avoid applying mascara or eyeliner to your lash line. It is extremely difficult to remove and often leaves a residue on your lashes that can result in poor retention. Occasional use of eye make up is fine, as long as it's not waterproof and is removed with oil free make up remover and and washed off with a cleanser immediately before going to sleep.

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes, picking or touching your lashes excessively

  • Avoid soaking your lashes in water for prolonged periods of time

  • Avoid exposing your lashes to extremely hot temperatures such as sauna, hot yoga, direct sun light, steam from oven). Occasional use of hot sauna is fine but shouldn't be a regular thing.

  • Never use a clamp-style eyelash curler on your extensions. This can permanently damage not only the extensions, but your natural eyelashes as well. Eyelash combs are great for grooming your lashes every morning.

  • Take special care around the eye area when cleansing your face. Gently cleanse the eye area and do not scrub or rug your eyes.

  • Eyelash extensions should always be cleaned with a lash cleanser daily or twice daily if the following apply

- you have oily skins

- after excessive sweating ie. gym session, running

- after swimming in a pool (chlorine and other chemicals in pools can

affect the retention so make sure to wash your lashes straight after, if

you are diving in)

- after going into sea

- after removing eye makeup

  • If you have lashes done for a special occasion only, baby shampoo is sufficient enough, however if you are having lashes done continuously , using professional lash cleanser especially designed for lash extensions, is essential. It not only leaves your lashes squeaky clean from build up of dirt, makeup, sebum but it also prevents bacterial infections.

  • Lash infills are recommend 2-3 weekly to maintain symmetry between the eyes and for the best overall results of the treatment. You need to have at least 40% of lash extensions left to qualify for an infill. Anything less will be considered a full set.

  • Do not attempt to remove the extensions yourself. Have them removed by your lash technician.
